Gupta Paints & Hardware Store

Our store, Gupta Paints & Hardware Store, is located on the Vasant Kunj Main Road right in the Masood Pur area. We occupy the C-5 spot. It is a very busy stretch of road, so there is always someone popping in for a handful of nails or a liter of paint. The shop is packed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of hardware stuff. We have rows of pipes, stacks of buckets, and bins full of screws and bolts. It might look a bit crowded to some, but we know exactly where everything is kept. If someone asks for a specific wrench or a particular shade of wall paint, we can usually dig it out in a minute or two. Masood Pur is a lively neighborhood and we serve a lot of the local residents and contractors who are working on nearby buildings. We start the day by pulling up the shutters and setting out some of the larger items on the sidewalk so people can see we are open. It’s a lot of lifting and carrying, especially when the new stock arrives on the trucks. We don't have a fancy computer system for everything; a lot of it is done by memory and quick notes. We just provide the basic things people need to keep their homes running or to finish a project they started on the weekend. It is honest work and we enjoy being part of the local street life.
