Aliance Decorators is over at Gole Market, specifically in the Bhai Veer Singh Market at number 188. Being in a market area means it’s always lively around here. There are people coming and going all day long. Our shop is filled with samples and bits of fabric and rolls of paper. It can look a bit messy to someone walking in for the first time but we know where everything is. We spend a lot of time talking to folks who stop by to look at colors or materials. It’s a hands-on kind of job. I’ve been working out of this spot for a long time. The building is older and has some character to it. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the back door but we just put a bucket down. We aren't a big design firm with a fancy showroom. We just have our samples and our tools and we do what needs doing. Most of the other shop owners around here are friends, so we grab tea together when it's slow. It’s a tight space but it’s ours. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we sort through the orders. If you come by 188, you’ll likely see us measuring something or talking on the phone with a supplier. It’s just a regular day-to-day business in a busy Delhi market. We like the noise and the constant motion of the market life. We stay open until the last customer is happy and then we lock up for the night.
