Green Valley Public School

Our school is located in Hari Nagar, which is right in the Badarpur area. It’s not a very quiet neighborhood, but we’ve made a home here for the school. The building is simple, and we try to keep it clean, though the dust from the road outside always finds its way in. We have a few floors of classrooms, and the stairs can be a bit much when you’re carrying a stack of books. The students come from the surrounding streets, mostly walking or catching a quick ride. We don’t have much in the way of fancy gadgets, just basic desks, chairs, and whiteboards. Sometimes the markers run out of ink right in the middle of a lesson, which is always annoying. During the breaks, the courtyard gets very loud with everyone talking at once. We eat our lunches in the small staff area, usually sharing whatever we brought from home. It’s a regular school life, nothing out of the ordinary. We deal with broken light bulbs and leaky pipes just like anyone else would. The weather really dictates our day—if it’s too hot, everyone moves a bit slower. If it’s raining, we have to keep everyone inside so the floors don’t get too slippery. We’ve been a part of this community for some time now, and we just keep doing our jobs. It’s about getting the lessons done and making sure the kids learn something before they head home for the day.
