Green Valley English Medium School

Shahdara is a crowded place, and West Rohtas Nagar is no different. Our school is tucked away at Shop No 1157/C, right on the Main Hanuman Road. It’s a busy area with a lot of noise from the bikes and the rickshaws passing by all day. We’ve had to get used to the sounds of the neighborhood while we teach the kids. The school isn't some massive campus with a stadium; it’s a practical space right in the heart of the community. Being an English medium school in this part of Delhi means we get a lot of parents from the nearby streets who want their children to learn close to home. The morning routine is usually a bit of a scramble, getting the students inside and out of the street traffic. Hanuman Road is always moving, so we have to keep a close eye on the entrance. Inside, the rooms are filled with desks and posters the kids made. We spend a lot of time fixing up the place, painting a wall here or fixing a door there. It’s a lot of work keeping a school running in a shop building, but it works for us and the families here. Most of the teachers live just a short walk or a quick rickshaw ride away, so we feel like a real part of Rohtas Nagar. We don't have many quiet moments until the final bell rings and the kids all head home into the Delhi heat.
