If you’re looking for us, we are at 330 on the Main Road in Gagan Vihar. Being on the main road means there is always noise and movement outside, but we’ve gotten used to it. The school is a practical space for kids in this part of Delhi to come and learn. We don't have a massive campus with several buildings, just this one spot where everything happens. The classrooms are simple and we try to keep them as cool as possible when the sun is out. Our staff is mostly local people who understand what it’s like living and working in Gagan Vihar. We don't have any fancy slogans or a big mission statement on the wall. We just want the kids to show up on time and do their homework. There’s a lot of back and forth with the parents about uniforms and books, which is just part of the job. In the afternoons, the sun sets right behind the school and it gets a bit quieter once the traffic dies down. We spend our evenings getting the lessons ready for the next day. It’s a very hands-on kind of place. If something breaks, we fix it ourselves. We aren’t trying to compete with the big private schools; we just want to do a decent job for the families in our neighborhood.
