Fabulous Fashions

Our little shop is at 949-a in Arjun Nagar. It’s tucked away a bit, so you have to look for the number on the door. The street is narrow, and kids are often playing cricket nearby. Inside, it’s mostly racks of clothes and a few shelves for accessories. I use a small stool to reach the higher hangers because the ceiling is taller than you’d think. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven’t found the time to move everything out of the way yet. I’ve been working here for a while, and I know which floorboards squeak when you step on them. We have a small mirror in the back that’s slightly tilted. Most of our visitors are people from the neighborhood who stop by for a chat as much as they do for the clothes. It’s a comfortable place, even if it’s a bit cluttered with boxes of new stock that I haven’t had a chance to put away. The light coming through the front door is nice in the morning, but by the afternoon, it gets a bit dim inside. I usually keep a radio playing softly in the background to keep things from being too quiet. It’s not a high-end boutique with fancy rugs; it’s just a simple fashion shop in Arjun Nagar where we try to keep things moving and stay busy. Every day is a bit different depending on who walks through the door.
