If you are looking for us, we are over at No. 1/2299 Mandoli Road. It’s a busy stretch of road in Shahdara, right near the Ravidas Gate in Ram Nagar. Most people find us by looking for the gate first. The clinic is on the ground floor, which makes it easy for folks who don't want to climb stairs. Inside, it smells like that typical dentist office scent—a mix of clove and cleaning supplies. We have two dental chairs that take up most of the space. They aren't the newest models, but they are reliable and we keep them in good shape. The light over the chairs is bright, which helps when the sun starts to set and the shadows get long in the room. We see a lot of kids from the local schools and older folks from the apartments nearby. Shahdara is a crowded place, so there’s always a bit of dust coming in from Mandoli Road every time the door opens. We have a small television in the corner of the waiting room that usually plays the news, mostly for background noise. My hands are always busy with tools or washing up between appointments. It’s not a fancy clinic with a fish tank or leather sofas. It’s just a practical space where we fix teeth and help people stop their aches. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the shopkeepers on the block.
