Dent Edge Clinic

Working at Janpath is always interesting because of the crowd outside. Our place is at No. 78/8, right above Fresco. You have to walk up the stairs which are a bit narrow and old, like most things in CP. Being in Janpath means there’s always a hum of activity from the street vendors and the tourists walking by. Inside the clinic, it feels a lot different from the chaos downstairs. We have a few windows that look out, but we mostly keep the blinds down to keep the sun from heating things up too much. The reception area has a wooden desk that’s been there since we opened. I usually start the morning by checking the power backup because the old lines in this part of town can be a bit tricky sometimes. There’s a small pantry in the back where we keep the kettle and some biscuits. The chairs for the patients are lined up against the wall. It’s not a huge space, so things get a bit tight when more than three or four people are waiting. I spend a lot of time on the phone or just organizing the drawers. By the time five o'clock hits, the noise from the market gets even louder, but we’re used to it. It’s just the way it is being in the heart of the city in the Janpath area. We keep the place clean, but it looks like a working clinic, not a museum. We've been here long enough that people know where to find us.
