D.A.V Public School

D.A.V Public School is located at 19/4A in the Prem Nagar area, right near Jail Road in Janak Puri, New Delhi. If you walk by in the morning, you can't miss the sound of hundreds of kids arriving all at once. It’s a very lively place to be, though it can get quite loud during the break times. We’ve got teachers running around with notebooks and students trying to finish their homework at the last minute. The building is older, with hallways that have seen a lot of footsteps over the years. We spend our days making sure the classrooms are ready and the bells ring on time. It is a lot of work to keep a school running, from fixing a broken desk to organizing the sports day. We don't have a lot of time for fancy speeches or looking important. Mostly, we are just trying to make sure the kids are learning something and staying out of trouble. The traffic on Jail Road is always a mess, so we spend a lot of time coordinating the buses and the parents picking up their children. It’s a community effort here in Janak Puri. We know the families and the shopkeepers nearby. It’s a bit chaotic sometimes, but that’s just how it is when you’re dealing with a school full of energetic children every single day.
