About D S T Coaching Centre – Education in New Delhi
I walk to work every morning through the streets of Ghazipur to get to D S T Coaching Centre. It is a familiar route and I know most of the shopkeepers along the way. When I reach the building, the first thing I do is struggle a bit with the lock because it gets stuck in the humidity. Inside, the rooms are quite plain. We have these heavy wooden benches that have been here for years, and they make a loud scraping sound whenever a student moves them. I spend a lot of my time just wiping down the surfaces because the dust in this part of town is relentless. The windows look out over a small alley where a local cat usually sleeps on top of a parked scooter. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just a few old posters and a clock that ticks a bit too loudly when the room is quiet. In the afternoons, the heat really builds up, and the two ceiling fans we have just seem to move the warm air around. I usually bring a large bottle of water from home and keep it under my desk. The students come in with their heavy bags and look ready to sit down for a while. It’s a very straightforward place. We don’t use any complicated gadgets, just notebooks and pens. By the time I leave in the evening, the streetlights are just starting to flicker on. It is a long day, but it’s my routine.
