Our office is Flat No. 202, Block 9, in the Unitech Heritage Estate in Yelahanka. It is a bit of a residential area for a business like Convergent Communications Pvt Ltd, but we like it that way. It is quieter than being in the middle of Bangalore’s city center. We handle communications stuff, mostly for businesses that need help staying connected. The office is basically a converted flat, so it feels a bit like a home. We have a small kitchen area where we make way too much coffee. There are cables and routers and phones sitting on desks throughout the place. It’s not a polished showroom. It’s a place where work actually happens. Sometimes we have meetings in the living room area. We don't have a receptionist in a suit; usually, whoever is closest to the door just opens it. We’ve been here for some time now and the neighbors in the estate are used to us. It’s a nice place to work because we can see the trees outside. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in India. We just want to do our communication work well so our customers don't have to worry about it. It’s a straightforward life. We come in, do the work, and head home. No big speeches or corporate jargon, just real people doing a job. We hope to stay in this spot for a long time.
