Charms Engineering

Our office is up on the 4th floor of the Laxmideep Building in the District Centre. It’s a busy spot on Vikas Marg. The elevator is sometimes slow so we end up taking the stairs more than we’d like. Downstairs there’s always a lot of traffic and people rushing around Delhi. Up here at Charms Engineering, it’s mostly just the sound of computers humming and someone talking on the phone. We have a few desks pushed together and a lot of old files from years back. It’s not the biggest space but it works for what we do. We spend a lot of time looking at designs and trying to figure out how to make things work better. Some days are longer than others, especially when a project is due. We usually order tea from the guy on the corner around four o’clock. The windows look out over the road but you can’t see much besides the tops of buses and the smog. We’ve been in this building for quite a while now. The walls could use a new coat of paint, but we never seem to find the time. It’s just us doing engineering work and trying to stay on top of the paperwork. People come in and out, but mostly we just stay focused on the tasks at hand. It is a practical place for practical work and we like the routine.
