Cement Manufacturing Company Limited

If you head over to Plot No. G-25 on Jain Road No-21 in Uttam Nagar, you’ll find us. We go by Cement Manufacturing Company Limited, though the name sounds a bit more official than we actually feel on a daily basis. The plot is a decent size, and we’ve got some machinery that makes a fair amount of noise during the day. It’s not a quiet neighborhood, so we fit right in with the rest of the shops and small factories around here. We spend most of our time out on the floor, making sure the mix is right and the bags are filled properly. It’s dusty work, and you can usually tell where we’ve been by the white powder on our boots and clothes. We don't have a reception area or anyone to greet you at the door. You usually have to walk in and shout over the machines to get someone’s attention. The office is just a small room with a fan that rattles and some old ledgers. We don't use computers for everything, mostly just the stuff we have to for tax purposes. It's a practical way of living, and it gets the job done. The guys stay late sometimes if there’s a big order to finish, but we try to get home before it gets too dark on Jain Road. It’s a lot of work, but it keeps the bills paid every month.
