We are based in J Block, Rajouri Garden. It is a busy part of New Delhi and we have been here for a while now. We spend most of our time talking to students or their parents about schools and visa processes. It involves a lot of paperwork. Folders are stacked up on almost every flat surface in the office. People come in with so many questions about moving away to study, and we just sit down and go through the forms with them one by one. It is not like those big agencies with glass walls and uniforms. We are just a few people in a room trying to figure out the best way forward for each person who walks in. The Rajouri Garden area is always loud outside, so we have to keep the door shut tight just to hear anything. Sometimes the printers jam right when we need to finish a file, and we all have to take a minute to fix it ourselves. We do not promise anything impossible to the families. We just look at the rules and see what fits their situation. It is a bit stressful when deadlines are coming up for applications, but we just take it one step at a time. Most days are just spent on the phone or typing out emails to universities. It feels good when someone finally gets their paperwork sorted, but then there is always another pile of folders waiting.
