Bobby Emporium

Bobby Emporium is right at Shop No. 6 on Hotel Janpath Road. Being so close to a hotel means we see a lot of different faces every day. Some people are just staying for a night and need something quick, while others are locals who have lived here forever. The shop is small, so we have to use every inch of the walls to display our stuff. It can feel a bit cramped when more than three people are inside at once. We spend a lot of time rearranging the items to make everything fit. The street outside is usually busy with cars and rickshaws, especially during the tourist season. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who take turns being behind the counter. We’ve got a small stool to sit on when things are slow, but mostly we are on our feet. The sign for the shop is right above the door, and it lights up at night, though one of the bulbs is flickering lately. We don't do any fancy promotions. We just open the shutters in the morning and stay until late evening. It’s a good little spot on Janpath Road. You get to hear all kinds of stories from the travelers. We just keep things running as best as we can, making sure the shelves aren't empty. It’s a simple way to make a living and we’ve been here a good while.
