Aryabhatt Institute Of Technology sits right on the G T Karnal Road. It is quite easy to find if you are near the Shaktinagar Telephone Exchange. The traffic on the road is always loud, and you can hear the trucks going by all day long. It’s a busy spot, but once you step inside the gates, it gets a bit quieter. We spend our days managing the labs and making sure the students are actually where they are supposed to be. The building is older and has that specific smell of chalk and old machinery. Being so close to the Telephone Exchange means everyone uses that as a landmark when they are coming to visit us for the first time. We have students coming from all over this part of the city. Sometimes it feels like we are constantly painting over scuffs on the walls or fixing the plumbing. It’s just part of running a big place like this. We don’t put on any airs here. It is just an honest place to get some technical training done. The staff is mostly locals who have been around for years. We eat lunch together in the small canteen and talk about the news or the weather. When the G T Karnal Road gets backed up with traffic, we all just stay a bit longer until things clear out. It’s just how life goes at an institute like ours in a busy area.
