About Army College Of Medical Science – Education in New Delhi
The area around Brar Square is quite different from the rest of Delhi. It’s much cleaner and has all those military checkpoints around every corner. Army College of Medical Science is right there, situated near the Base Hospital. You see a lot of people in uniform walking around this part of town. The students at the college are always on the move, looking busy. They usually look a bit tired, probably from staying up all night studying for their medical boards or working on a rotation. The building itself is sturdy and functional. It doesn’t have any of that modern glass architecture you see in new buildings. It’s just brick and concrete and very practical. Inside, the hallways are long and have that distinct hospital smell that sticks to your clothes. You can hear the murmurs of students discussing medical cases in the small cafeteria. The food is basic—things like dal, rice, and hot tea. It’s a place for serious work and not much else. We don’t have much time for any fluff here. The proximity to the hospital means students are always seeing the real side of medicine. It’s a tough life, but they seem to handle it well enough. The old trees around the square offer some good shade during the humid afternoons. You might see a few stray dogs sleeping near the gate where it's cool. It’s a grounded environment. There’s a sense of order because of the location, but inside, it’s just young people trying to become doctors.
