Arihant Earthmovers Pvt. Ltd. sits on Plot No. 5A in Sainik Vihar. This is part of the Mohan Garden area in Uttam Nagar. It is a gritty part of the city where there is always some kind of digging or building happening. Our yard is usually filled with heavy machinery and parts that we are moving around. There is a lot of grease and oil on the floor, which is pretty much expected in this line of work. The office part is just a small cabin at the front of the plot where we keep the ledgers and the phone. It gets quite loud when the earthmovers are being tested or moved onto the trucks. We spend most of our time wearing boots and dusty clothes because there is no point in trying to stay clean here. The staff has been around for years and we all know how the machines work better than we know how the computers work. Most of our day involves talking to operators and checking on the equipment that is coming in or going out. Mohan Garden is a crowded place, so getting the big trailers in and out of the plot takes a lot of patience and shouting. We don't have a fancy waiting room for visitors. Usually, if someone comes to see us, they just pull up a plastic chair and we talk over the sound of the engines. It is honest work and we stay busy from morning until late evening.
