Anshu Tutorials

Patel Nagar West is a busy place, and being on the Main Road at 28/91 puts Anshu Tutorials right in the thick of things. There is a constant flow of people walking past our door, and the sound of the city is something we’ve just gotten used to over the years. Our rooms are filled with old wooden benches and stacks of textbooks that seem to grow higher every week. We start our sessions in the afternoon when the schools let out and stay open until the shops around us start closing up. It’s a lot of talking and explaining the same things over and over until the students finally get that look on their face like they understand. We aren’t a big coaching center with hundreds of staff. It’s just a few of us trying to make sure these kids get their basics right. The fans hum overhead and sometimes they rattle a bit, but we just ignore it and keep going. We drink a lot of chai to keep our energy up during the back-to-back sessions. The floor gets dusty from all the shoes coming in from the main road, so we have to sweep it out every evening before we lock up. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s an important one for the families around here who want their kids to do better. We just take it one lesson at a time.
