Ahuja Sweets

Ahuja Sweets has been sitting here in Chanakyapuri for a good many years. Even though this part of Delhi is known for being fancy with all the embassies and big houses, our shop stays pretty traditional. We don't try to act like we’re something we aren't. Every day starts with the milk being delivered and the big pans getting heated up. You can usually see the steam and smell the sugar from the sidewalk. We make all the usual sweets that people look for during festivals or just for a treat after dinner. It’s a family-style environment where we all know our roles. We have customers who have been coming to us since they were children, and now they bring their own kids. We don't have a marketing department or a fancy website. Most of our business comes from people who just know where we are and like what we make. The shop isn't huge, but it's always clean and ready for whoever walks in. We spend a lot of time making sure the displays look nice, but we don't worry about being perfect. It’s about the taste and the habit of coming here. We are just a local sweet shop doing our thing in Chanakyapuri, and we plan to keep it that way for a long time to come. We just keep our head down and focus on the sweets.
