Out here in Muthathy, things are a bit different than the big city industrial zones. Our workshop is located at Kana Veedu, near Payyanur in Kerala. Advance Control Panels Switch Gears Pvt Ltd is where we spend our days dealing with heavy metal boxes and lots of wiring. It’s a practical place. You’ll hear the sound of drilling and metal clanging throughout the day. We make these panels for different setups, and it takes a lot of patience to get the circuits right. The weather here can be quite humid, so the workshop stays open for the breeze. It’s a family-run kind of feel even though we are a private limited company. We take our work seriously because electricity isn't something to play with. Most of the guys living around Po-Korom know us. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in Kerala, just a reliable one that does the job correctly. Sometimes the roads get muddy during the monsoon, which makes deliveries a bit of a challenge, but we manage. Inside, it’s all about the blue prints and the assembly line. We don’t have a big reception area or coffee machines. We just have our tools and a place to sit during lunch. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do. We’ve been in this location for years and plan to stay here for a lot longer. It is just our way of life.
