I’ve been working out of this space at Wz128/1 in Lajwanti Garden for a good few years now. Gali No 6 is one of those typical Delhi streets where everyone knows everyone else’s business, and it’s always lively. My place isn't hard to find if you know the neighborhood, but for strangers, the turns can be a bit confusing. Usually, I start my work around mid-morning after the initial rush of the school buses and office goers has died down. The room I work from isn't huge, just enough for my desk, a couple of chairs, and all the papers and equipment I need. It gets a bit warm in the summers, even with the fan going full blast, but you get used to it. People stop by throughout the day, sometimes just for a quick question or to drop something off. I handle most of the things myself, so if I’m out on an errand, the shutters are down for a bit. There’s a small tea stall just around the corner where I usually take a break in the evening. It’s a one-man show mostly, so things are done my way, which means I know where every single file is located even if it looks like a mess to someone else. I don't see the need for a big office in a fancy building when this spot in the garden works just fine for what I do. It's quiet enough to get things done but close enough to the main road to be accessible for anyone who needs to see me.
