A S Engineering Works

We've been here at A 35 in the Jhilmil Industrial Area for a long time now. Most days it’s just the sound of machines and the smell of cut metal around Shahdara. We don't have a fancy office with glass doors or anything like that. It’s mostly just us in our work clothes making sure the orders get finished. Sometimes the power goes out or the traffic near the metro station makes it hard for the trucks to get through, but we manage. People know us around here because we’ve been in the same spot for years. It’s a busy place and there’s always something that needs fixing or welding. We usually start early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. My hands are usually covered in oil by noon, but that’s just how the work is. We handle a lot of different jobs, some small and some quite big, depending on what the local shops need. It gets quite loud inside when all the lathes are running at once. We don’t really spend time on making things look pretty, we just focus on getting the dimensions right so the parts actually fit. If you come by, you’ll probably find me near the back bench. It's not a complicated setup, but it works for us. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, but the work stays pretty much the same day in and day out.
