You can find Y S R Rice Traders over at 12, Sumithra Nagar. We specialize in different varieties of rice that we source from various mills. The business is pretty much focused on getting the right grains to the local shops and sometimes directly to families who buy in bulk. Our space in Sumithra Nagar is more of a warehouse than a fancy showroom. We have stacks of bags everywhere, and the smell of raw rice is always in the air. It’s a heavy job, moving those bags around all day, but it keeps us active. We’ve been in this trade for several years and have seen the prices go up and down quite a bit. We don’t try to do anything too fancy. We just look at the quality, check the moisture, and make sure the bags are sealed right. Sumithra Nagar is a good spot for us because it’s easy for the trucks to get in and out without getting stuck in too much traffic. We know the other traders nearby and we all just do our own thing. Most of our day is spent checking inventory and talking to the mill owners on the phone. It’s not a glamorous job, and our hands are usually dusty by the end of the shift.
