S L Ply N Wood

If you head over to Juhu Gaon in Vashi, you will find us at Shop No-1 on Plot No-961/003. It’s in Sector-11, and the area is usually humming with all sorts of small businesses. S L Ply N Wood is basically a big room full of wood sheets and the smell of sawdust. I’ve been working with wood for a long time, so the smell doesn’t even bother me anymore. We spend a lot of our time cutting pieces to size or helping people load boards into their small trucks. It’s heavy work and my back usually aches by the end of the day. The shop isn't much to look at, just stacks of plywood and timber piled up against the walls. We don't have a fancy office in the back, just a desk where we keep the ledger and the phone. Sometimes it gets really hot in the afternoon, especially when the sun hits the front of the shop. We just keep the shutters open and have a cold drink. It’s a very local way of doing things. We know most of the carpenters around here by name. They come in, tell us what they need for a kitchen or a wardrobe, and we get it ready for them. There is no corporate talk here, just honest talk about wood and what works for a specific job. It’s simple, and it keeps us going day after day.
