Working out of the 2nd Floor in Block E of the DAKC Complex is what we do every day. It’s a large complex, so it took me a while to find my way around when I first started. We deal with cement, but here in the office, it’s mostly about coordinates, logistics, and supply chains. It's a lot of spreadsheets and phone calls to various sites. The elevators are usually full in the mornings, so I try to get here early. The office doesn't have much in the way of decoration, just the usual desks and computers. We have a small pantry where we stand around and talk about the weekend. You can hear the hum of the air conditioning all day long. Dealing with cement means we are always looking at construction schedules. It’s a heavy industry, but the office side is all about the details. Sometimes the paperwork feels like it never ends. We get calls from all over, asking about deliveries and prices. It’s a steady pace, nothing too frantic unless there’s a big project deadline. Most of us have been here a long time and we know the routine. We don't spend much time thinking about the big picture, we just focus on making sure the orders for the day are processed correctly. DAKC is a busy place to be, and by the time five o'clock rolls around, everyone is ready to head back to the station. It's just a regular job.
