Radheshyam Hair Saloon

We are sitting right here at Gajraj Chowk in Budwar Peth. It is a busy spot in Nashik, especially with the Gajraj Samaj Mandir just a stone's throw away. Most days, I open up the shop and watch the people going to the temple or heading to work. The street is always alive with noise, scooters honking and neighbors shouting greetings. Inside the saloon, it is mostly quiet until someone walks in for a trim. We have got these old chairs that have seen better days but they are comfortable enough for a quick cut. I remember when the neighborhood looked different, but our spot has stayed the same. Sometimes the tea from the stall nearby gets cold before I can drink it because a customer comes in. We don't have fancy lights or anything. Just the basic mirrors and my set of scissors and combs. People from the mandir often stop by just to say hello or sit for a bit while they wait for their family. It is a simple life here in Nashik. The floor gets covered in hair by the afternoon, and then I sweep it all up before the evening rush starts. You see the same faces every month. Kids who used to come in with their fathers are now coming in on their own. It is just how things go in a place like this.
