Mohair Salon

Mohair Salon is a small shop located in the Bhagyalaxmi Apartment on Gangapur Road. We are at Shop Number 01 in Date Nagar. This is the Ayodhya Colony area of Nashik, postal code 422013. It’s a nice neighborhood. I’ve lived around here for years, so opening a shop here made sense. It’s just one room really. We have the big mirrors on the wall and a couple of chairs that spin. The floor is that grey stone you see in a lot of buildings around here. I didn't want anything too posh. I wanted a place where a guy can come in, get his hair cut, and talk about the cricket score. We get a lot of students and also the older men who live in the apartments above us. The door stays open most of the day to let the breeze in. Sometimes a stray dog will sit near the entrance to stay out of the sun. I don't mind. We use basic stuff, scissors, combs, and a couple of clippers. Everything is kept in drawers so it doesn't get dusty. Nashik is growing fast, but Gangapur Road still feels like home to me. I know most of the people who walk past the window. We don't have a big sign with flashing lights. Just the name Mohair on the glass. It’s enough for the folks around here to find us. Usually, I close up when it gets dark and walk home.
