The Hair Plaza

The Hair Plaza is down in the basement of the Suryav Arcade. It is Shop No.01, right on Nimani Road in Panchavati. If you are standing across from the Nimani Bus Stand, you can see the entrance to the building easily. Being in a basement means it stays a bit cooler during those hot Nashik afternoons, which is nice for us. We spend a lot of time down here. The sounds of the buses coming and going from the stand outside are just part of our day now. We don’t really notice the noise anymore. It’s a busy spot because of the location. People are always rushing to catch a bus or walking from the market area. Inside, the shop has the usual mirrors and chairs you would expect. We keep our combs and scissors ready on the stations. It isn't a very large place, but we make use of the space we have. Work starts when we roll up the shutters in the morning. We see a lot of different people because of the bus stand nearby. Some are locals from around Panchavati and others are just passing through. We just do the haircuts and shaves like any other shop. It is a regular routine of sweeping up hair and waiting for the next person to sit down. We don’t go in for anything too complicated. It is just us here working every day and making sure the shop is ready for whoever walks down those stairs to visit us.
