Mangesh Mithai

We run this sweets shop in the heart of Nashik. It is a local place where we make mithai every day. The kitchen is usually the busiest part of the building. You can smell the sugar and the ghee from the street as you walk by. We have been at this 422001 location for a long time now. People in the neighborhood know us by name. It’s not a big corporate store with bright lights. We have glass counters where we put out the fresh batches every morning. Sometimes the floor gets a bit sticky with the syrups, but we try to keep up with the cleaning as best as we can. Nashik gets quite warm, so we have to be careful with how we store the milk-based sweets. We have a few regular customers who come in every single day for their favorite snacks and a bit of talk. We recognize most of the faces that come through the door. It is a simple life of preparing food and serving the local community. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements or marketing. The shop front is just plain and simple. We have some stools for people to sit if they want to eat right there. The street outside is always noisy with traffic and people talking loudly. We open early and stay open until late in the evening. It's just a regular local business run by people who live nearby and care about the work they do.
