Down at H-38 in the MIDC Ambad area, that is where Five Star Forgings is situated. It is an industrial neighborhood, so you are always hearing the sound of hammers or heavy machinery in the background. Working in a forge means it is always hot, no matter what time of year it is. We have gotten used to the heat, but it still wears you out by the end of a long shift. We make various forged components here. It is a lot of physical work, moving heavy pieces around and making sure the furnaces are at the right temperature. We do not have any marketing people telling us what to say. We just focus on the orders we have on the desk. Sometimes the steel prices go up and it makes things difficult, or a delivery truck gets stuck in traffic, but we just keep moving. The floors are rarely clean because that is just the way it is when you are working with raw metal and fire. We have got a small crew, mostly guys from the local area who have been doing this for years. We eat our lunch together near the front door where there is a bit of a breeze. It is a basic life, but there is something satisfying about seeing a finished part come out of the heat. We do not overthink it; we just do the work that needs doing and try to keep things moving along.
