Cafe Xpress

We’re located right on College Road, which means it’s always a bit noisy outside with all the traffic and students walking by. The cafe isn't very large, just enough room for a few tables and the counter where the espresso machine sits. It’s a bit of a squeeze during the lunch rush when everyone comes in at once. We’ve got a few regulars who come in every morning for the same thing, and we usually have their order started before they even get to the front of the line. The walls have a few marks on them and the floor is a bit worn from all the foot traffic, but that’s just how it is when you’re on a busy street. We spend most of our shift making coffee, cleaning up spills, and restocking the fridge. It isn't a fancy place with leather chairs; it’s more of a spot where you grab a quick drink and maybe sit for a few minutes if there’s a chair free. The smell of coffee beans is everywhere, which is nice. We try to keep the music at a decent volume so people can talk, though it gets loud when the place is full. We’re just a small crew working behind the counter. It’s a lot of standing and moving fast, but we like the energy of College Road. It’s a simple business, nothing more, nothing less. We often stay open a bit later if there are students still hanging around.
