Anays Cafe

We are situated right on the Mumbai Agra Highway in the Rane Nagar part of Nashik. If you know the area at all, we are very close to the Rane Nagar bus stop and the Hotel Chandralok. It is a spot where a lot of tired travelers end up when they are done being on the road for the day. The cafe is quite modest and simple. We have some basic wooden tables and chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. The highway noise is something you eventually stop hearing after you have worked here for a few weeks. We get a lot of truck drivers and families who are just passing through Nashik on their way somewhere else. They usually want something quick and hot to eat or drink. We spend a lot of our time making tea and coffee for the passengers. The dust from the highway is the biggest struggle we face daily. You wipe a table down and then ten minutes later it needs it again. We don't have a big menu because there are only a few of us working in the kitchen at any time. We prefer to keep things manageable so we don't get overwhelmed. The lighting inside is a bit dim, but it stays cool enough when the sun is beating down on the road outside. It is hard work staying open for the long hours that highway life requires. We just open the doors and wait.
