Atharva Hair Dresses is located at Shop No 01 in Old Nashik. We are right by Bhadrakali at Shivaji Chowk, which is a very busy spot to be. You can always hear the horns and the people shouting from the market nearby. Inside the shop, we have those large mirrors that have been on the walls for years. The chairs are the old-fashioned heavy ones that creak a little when you sit down. We have jars of combs soaking in blue liquid and different kinds of scissors laid out on the counter. It’s a place where men come to get a quick trim or a shave and talk about what is happening in the neighborhood. We don't have a fancy waiting area, just a wooden bench against the wall. Sometimes it gets crowded and people have to stand outside for a bit. The floor is constantly being swept because hair gets everywhere. We have a small television in the corner, but the volume is usually turned down low. The smell of the shop is a mix of talcum powder and that spicy aftershave we use. It’s not a modern salon with expensive products; it’s just a local barber shop where we have been cutting hair for a long time. Everyone who comes in is usually a regular who lives just a few streets away.
