Ashoka Universal School

You can find us on Ashoka Marg here in Nashik. The school name is actually the same as the road, which makes it easier for people to give directions. It’s a fairly large space and we have been here for quite some time now. The street outside can get pretty noisy with all the cars and bikes going past, but once you walk through the main entrance, it feels a lot different. We have several floors and many rooms to look after. Every morning starts with the sound of the bell and then the shuffle of feet in the hallways. We don't have a lot of time for sitting around. There is always a desk that needs fixing or a stack of papers to be moved from one office to another. The weather in Nashik is usually nice, so the kids spend their lunch breaks outside when it isn't raining. We keep a regular schedule, from the first bell until everyone goes home in the afternoon. The building itself is solid and we try to keep it neat, though with so many people coming through every day, it’s a constant job. We see a lot of parents coming in to talk or pick up their kids throughout the week. It’s a busy atmosphere, but we are used to the rhythm of it by now. We just take it one day at a time without making a big fuss about things.
