Down in Chinnamudalaipatti, things are a bit quieter than in the big cities. Our office is at 4/40, right near the Mudalaipatti Post. Navayuga Seeds Pvt. Ltd. is pretty much what the name says. We work with seeds. It’s a seasonal business, so some months we are running around like crazy and others we are just sitting there waiting for the rains. The building is simple, nothing fancy about it. We have bags of seeds stacked up and a lot of paperwork to keep track of. Farmers come by, and we talk about the soil and what’s growing. It’s a local operation. We don’t have a big corporate team in suits. Most of us grew up around here and know the land. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit on the porch until it comes back. It’s not the kind of place you’d find in a magazine. There’s dust on the shelves and the furniture is old, but it works for us. We don’t do big TV ads or anything. People know where we are if they need us. Mudalaipatti is a small place, and everyone knows everyone else’s business anyway. We just try to get the right seeds to the right people at the right time. It’s a slow life sometimes, but it’s what we know. We’ve been at this address for a good while now.
