Vijaya Laksmi Swamil

Out here in Ramunipatla Village, things move at a different pace than the big towns. Our place, Vijaya Laksmi Swamil, is just a part of the daily routine for folks living nearby. We spend a lot of our time making sure we have what people need so they don’t have to travel far. The shop isn't very big, and sometimes the shelves look a bit crowded because we try to fit everything in. It can get a little warm in the afternoons, so we usually keep the fans running high. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names or at least which family they belong to. It’s not just about selling things; it’s about being a stop in someone’s day. We deal with various items, mostly stuff for the kitchen or things used around the house. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late because of the roads, and we have to tell people to come back tomorrow. They usually don’t mind too much. We don't have a big team, just a few of us helping out and keeping the floor swept. It’s a basic life, but it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. We just focus on getting through the list of chores and making sure the inventory is okay. Nothing too complicated happens here, and we just like it that way.
