Sri Hindu Junior College

You cannot miss us if you are traveling along the Main Road in Ramannnapeta. Sri Hindu Junior College is right there, and it has been a part of Nalgonda for quite a while. The building has that old look to it, with thick walls and high ceilings that keep it a bit cooler when the sun is out. It is a busy spot because of the road, so there is always a bit of dust and the sound of horns. We do not have any of those modern glass windows or air conditioning. It is just a regular college where the students sit on long wooden benches. The staff room is usually full of papers and half-finished cups of tea. We do not go in for big advertisements. People know who we are just by being in the town. Sometimes the roof leaks a little during the heavy rains, so we just move the desks out of the way. It is not a perfect place, but it is ours. The bell is just a piece of metal that someone hits with a hammer. It is loud enough for everyone to hear. We spend our time going through the syllabus and making sure the students are present. It is a simple life here. We do not try to make it sound like something it isn't. It is just a place for young people to come and learn their lessons. The gate stays open for anyone who belongs here.
