Damaracherla Nlg Women Farmer Producer Company Limited is a bit different because it is run by the women farmers here. We operate out of the Damaracherla Mandala Mahila Samakya Office. It’s right near the Thahasildar Office, so most people in the area know exactly where that is. We got together because women do a lot of the work in the fields but don't always get to make the decisions. By having this company, we handle our own crops and our own money. It’s a lot of work coordinating with so many different women across the mandala. We meet at the office to talk about what we are going to plant and how we can get a better price at the market. It’s not a fancy office, just a place for us to gather and keep our records. We don't have any polished speeches to give. We just talk about reality, like the cost of labor or the lack of rain. Being near the Thahasildar office helps when we need to sort out land papers or get government help. We are proud of what we’ve built because it’s ours. We just keep our heads down and keep working to make things better for our families. It’s a group effort and every woman involved has a say in what we do next. It is hard work but we find a way to get it done.
