The Rack

We are right here in Mankapur, just across from the passport office at 27gokul Kunj. Most days start pretty early because of the crowd at the office across the street. People are always coming and going in Sadikabad Colony. We opened The Rack just to have a place where folks can find what they need without a lot of fuss. It gets a bit dusty being on the main road, so there is a lot of cleaning every morning. My cousin helps me out with the stock. We spend a lot of time just moving boxes around and making sure things are where they belong. Sometimes the traffic gets loud, especially when people are honking near the junction. We have been here for a while now and most of the neighbors know us by name. It is not a very big space, but we make it work. The shelves are usually full and sometimes it feels a bit cramped when more than three people walk in at once. We don't have fancy lights or anything like that. Just the basic tubes and the natural light from the front door. We keep the door open mostly to get some air in. Usually, by the afternoon, things slow down a bit and we can sit for a minute. It’s just a regular shop doing regular things every day. We try to keep things simple and honest here. It’s just us, the shelves, and the daily grind in this little corner of the city.
