Swami Vivekanad Academy

Our place, Swami Vivekanad Academy, is right by Gandhi Putla on New Itwari Road. If you know Saraf Line, you know exactly where we are in Nagpur 440002. It’s a very busy part of town. There are shops all around us, and the noise from the market is just something we live with every day. The academy is upstairs, so it’s a little quieter than the street, but you can still hear the horns honking and people shouting. We have several rooms where we hold our classes. The furniture is basic, mostly just those long benches that fit three or four students. We try to keep the place tidy, but with so many students coming in and out, there's usually some chalk dust on the floor or a forgotten umbrella in the corner. We spend our time going through chapters and solving problems on the board. Since we are in the heart of the market area, many of our students come from families who have shops nearby. They come here after school and stay until late. It feels very much like a community spot. We don't go in for big advertisements or anything like that. Most people just see the sign when they are walking through Saraf Line or hear about us from a neighbor. It’s a lot of long hours, but seeing the students finally get a difficult math problem right makes the busy environment worth it.
