Snook

Snook is a spot located at 52, Hill Road in Gokul Peth. It’s a neighborhood where people are always walking around, and we are right there in the mix. The place is mostly about the tables and the lights hanging over them. We spend a lot of time keeping the cloth clean and the cues straight. It isn't a fancy lounge with leather sofas; it's more of a place where you come to play and maybe have a chat. The air usually smells a bit like chalk, and there is that constant clicking sound of the balls hitting each other. We have some regulars who have been coming here since we first opened, and they usually have their favorite spots to sit. The front door stays open most of the day to let in some breeze, though Hill Road can get a bit dusty. We keep things pretty simple. There’s a counter where we keep track of the time, and a few stools if you’re just watching a game. We don't have a lot of rules, just as long as people respect the equipment. Sometimes we have to fix a light or replace a tip on a cue, which we usually do ourselves right there on the floor. It’s a steady kind of life, watching the games go by and making sure the atmosphere stays relaxed for everyone who walks in.
