Shrijyom Neon Sign & Glow Works

Our place is on Manewada Road in Bhagwan Nagar. It's Plot 25, right near the Venu Corner. It's a very busy spot with lots of noise and traffic all day long. We make neon signs and those glow boards you see on shops at night. It’s a lot of wiring and glass work involved in the process. Sometimes the gas for the neon is hard to get from the suppliers, but we always manage to find a way. We’ve been here in Ajni for some time now. The workshop is always full of scraps and bits of metal and wire. It looks like a mess to an outsider but we know exactly where everything is kept. We started doing this because there weren't many people making these types of signs around here. Now there are more shops doing it but we still have our regular customers. We don't really do big advertisements for ourselves. Most people just see our own glowing sign at night and come in. It’s a bit noisy because of the road and the machines we use, but you get used to it after a week. We work late into the night sometimes because that's when you can really see if the glow signs are working the right way. It's satisfying to see a sign light up for the first time. We handle the installation too, which usually means climbing up on high ladders in the evening. It’s hard work but it's what we do.
