Shekhar Traders & Hardware

Our shop, Shekhar Traders & Hardware, is located at Uday Nagar Chowk on Manewala Road. We are right by the Nit Garden and very close to the Bhagaye Laxmi Mangal Karyaleh. Since there is a wedding hall nearby, the road gets incredibly crowded during the marriage season with cars and people everywhere. We sell all sorts of hardware items, from hammers and nails to pipes and bathroom fittings. The shop is packed from floor to ceiling, and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for. We know where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. It’s a lively spot to work in because there is always someone walking by or a scooter beeping at the intersection. We don’t use any polished sales talk here. People come in, tell us what they are fixing, and we give them the parts they need. The fan in the ceiling squeaks a bit but it’s been running for ten years so we don’t mind. Sometimes the neighbors come in just to borrow a tool or ask for advice on a leaky tap. It’s a community vibe at the chowk. We stay open late because that’s when most people realize they forgot a bolt or a washer for their home repairs. It's a lot of standing on our feet all day but we like seeing the familiar faces of the neighborhood every morning when we open.
