Platinum Academy

Over here at Platinum Academy in Nagpur 440008, things are kept pretty simple and straightforward. We have a few rooms dedicated to teaching students from the neighborhood. It’s not a fancy name for a fancy place, just a name we picked out when we started. We’ve been operating out of this same building for a long time now. The stairs leading up are quite narrow, so students usually have to go up in a single line. Inside, you’ll find mostly just rows of desks and chairs. We teach different batches of students throughout the entire day. Some kids come for help with math, while others are here for science or languages. We don't have a big corporate team or any managers. It’s just a few of us who know the subjects well and enjoy teaching. We spend the bulk of our time grading test papers and trying to keep the students focused on their work. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, which is a big help when we are trying to explain a particularly difficult topic. We still use old-school chalkboards for the most part. They are just easier to use and everyone can see the writing clearly. We don't make any huge promises about results. We just tell the students that if they show up and do the work, they will get better. Nagpur gets very hot, so our fans are always running on the highest setting. It’s just a basic, hardworking local spot.
