If you find yourself over by Gitanjali Talkies in Hansapuri, you’re pretty close to us. We’re at Shop No.561 in the Chhoti Khadan area of Gandhibagh. It’s a bit of a maze back here, but once you find us, you’ll see we’re always working on something bright. Giriraj Neon And Art Works is mostly just us bending glass and messing with colors. It’s a craft that takes time, and we’ve got the callouses to prove it. The shop is full of old tools and half-finished signs. It’s not the cleanest place in the world, because art and neon can get a bit messy. Gandhibagh is a busy place, and we’ve been part of this street for a long time. We remember when the cinema was even busier than it is now. We do signs for all sorts of people, from small tea stalls to bigger shops. It’s just what we do. Sometimes the neon tubes are stubborn and won't bend the way we want, but we stick with it until it’s right. We don’t spend much time on the computer; we’d rather be working with our hands and the gas torch. It's loud outside with all the rickshaws and people, but inside the shop, we just focus on the glow of the tubes. It is a slow process but we enjoy seeing the final result light up the dark.
