If you go down Hingana Road in Nagpur, past the VIP Industries, you’ll find Dhruv College Of Commerce & Management at the IC Square. It’s an industrial part of town, so there’s a lot of truck traffic and noise from the nearby factories. Our college is right there in the middle of it. It’s a practical location for a commerce college because you see the real world of business right outside the window. The building itself is straightforward. We have classrooms for the commerce and management students, and a small office where I sit. It gets very hot in Nagpur, so we spend a lot of time making sure the coolers are working. The atmosphere isn't like a fancy corporate office; it’s more down-to-earth. We have students coming in from all over the 440016 area, many taking the bus or riding their bikes through the dusty roads. My job involves a lot of talking to parents and helping students with their exam forms. We don't have a huge staff, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, from fixing a light to sorting out the schedule. It’s a bit messy sometimes, with stacks of books and papers everywhere, but that’s just how it is. We focus on getting the classes done and making sure everyone knows what they need for their exams. It’s a busy, unpolished place that fits right into the industrial vibe of Hingana Road.
