Dhapewada Textile Udyog Producer Company Limited is based right here at House Number 196 in Ward 4. Dhapewada is our home and it is where all our daily work happens. We are a group of producers coming together to handle our textile work together. It’s not a corporate headquarters with glass walls and carpets. It is a house where we meet and organize everything for the collective. Most of the people involved are neighbors or people we’ve known for years from around the village. We handle the weaving and the business side of things right from this ward. It can be a bit chaotic when everyone shows up at once to discuss things, but we manage to get through it. We don't have a marketing department to write nice things about us. We just know how to work with cloth and how to run our small collective. It’s mostly about making sure everyone involved gets a fair shake at the end of the month. The building is simple and serves its purpose for storage and small meetings. You won't find any corporate slogans on the walls here. We just focus on the looms and the orders coming in from different places. It’s a lot of hard work and sometimes the market isn't great, but we stick together. Dhapewada has always had a connection to this kind of cloth work. We are just continuing that in our own way. We keep our books in order and help each other out.
