We’ve been at Shop No. 8 in Mehadia Bhavan for a good while now. Dhantoli is one of those places that stays busy from morning till late, so there is always noise outside. Our shop isn't very big, but we’ve managed to fit everything we need inside. There are boxes stacked up against the back wall and the desks are usually covered in invoices. We spend a lot of time on the phone or just checking the stock levels. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the front of the building. We just keep the fan going and keep working. People know us as the place in the corner of the building. It’s not like a big corporate office with carpets and glass doors. It’s more of a practical space where the floor is concrete and the shelves are metal. We know where everything is, mostly. Sometimes things get misplaced when a big shipment comes in, but we find them eventually. The neighbors are alright, mostly other small businesses doing the same thing as us. We see the same faces every day. It’s a steady kind of life here in Dhantoli. We don’t really change much, just keep doing the daily tasks and making sure the orders go out when they should. It’s simple work but it keeps us on our feet. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun, but everyone still finds us fine.
