College Of Fisheries Science

You’ll find the College Of Fisheries Science out in Telenkhedi, right near the Hanuman Mandir in Nagpur. It’s a bit of a specific place because of what we do here. The area is quite nice, being near the temple and some greenery. We’ve been here in Maharashtra for quite some time, focusing on everything related to fish and water. The campus has some labs and classrooms that look like they’ve seen a lot of use over the years. We aren't a big, flashy university with glass buildings. It’s more of a practical place where people wear boots and work with their hands. Most of the staff here are local to Nagpur or from nearby towns. We spend a lot of our time checking on the tanks or looking at samples under microscopes. It’s quiet work for the most part, though it gets busy when the students are in for their practicals. The address is easy to find if you’re looking for the temple. We don’t do a lot of fancy events or have a big public relations department. We just keep our heads down and do the research and teaching that needs to get done. It’s an interesting field to be in, and being in a city like Nagpur makes it feel very central. We like the pace here and the fact that we can just focus on the science without any unnecessary distractions.
